PureVPN currently offers more than 6,000 servers, support for 10 simultaneous devices, split tunneling, a kill switch, tracker blocking, and several optional privacy tools. That sounds great, but more than 20 factors come into play before you choose a reliable VPN service. In this article, we will share our views on PureVPN so that you can make an informed decision before buying it.

How large is PureVPN’s server network?

PureVPN currently advertises over 6,000 VPN servers spread across more than 80 locations. These servers support everyday browsing, work, video calls, and other network activity.

Still, the number of servers alone does not guarantee better speed. Actual performance depends on factors such as your physical location, Wi-Fi quality, ISP, VPN protocol, server load, device, and network route.

PureVPN also changed part of its infrastructure in 2026 by reducing the number of virtual locations in its network. The company said the change was intended to improve reliability.

What privacy features does PureVPN offer?

Privacy is one of the main reasons people look for a VPN. For this reason, PureVPN offers several features that can help reduce network exposure and protect privacy.

1. Kill switch

The kill switch can stop supported internet traffic if the VPN disconnects unexpectedly. This helps prevent traffic from immediately returning to your regular network connection. But it does not provide complete anonymity or protect against every online threat.

2. Split tunneling

PureVPN offers split tunneling on supported devices. This allows you to choose which applications use the VPN and which continue through your regular internet connection. For example, you might route a browser through the VPN while allowing another trusted application to use the normal network.

3. Public Wi-Fi privacy

A VPN can add another privacy layer when using hotel, café, airport, or other shared Wi-Fi networks. It encrypts supported traffic between your device and the VPN server.

Please note that HTTPS already protects much of modern web traffic, so a VPN is an additional privacy layer rather than the only protection you need.

What does PureVPN’s no-logs policy mean?

PureVPN now says it has completed four successful no-log assessments and uses an always-on audit structure that allows auditors to inspect its systems without advance notice. Also, its current privacy policy states that it does not keep logs that can identify or monitor a user’s browsing activity.

Are the protocols okay to use in Pure VPN?

PureVPN currently supports several established VPN protocols.

ProtocolBest suited forKey point
WireGuardEveryday VPN useModern, lightweight protocol with performance that depends on the network
OpenVPNBroad compatibilityOpen-source and widely supported across devices and networks
IKEv2/IPSecMobile and changing networksUseful on supported devices when switching between connections

Note: No single protocol is always the fastest or most secure. Results depend on your device, network, server, and connection conditions. So avoid marketing language that claims protocols will ensure smooth connections on any network.

How are the speed and performance?

That is the right way to think about VPN performance. Server capacity doesn’t equal the speed every customer gets. Using a VPN adds encryption and changes the route your traffic takes. Because of this, the VPN may reduce speed, improve a poor route in some cases, or make little noticeable difference.

For a practical test, compare:

  • Download speed
  • Upload speed
  • Ping
  • Packet loss
  • Connection stability
  • Nearby servers
  • Different protocols

For gaming, avoid claims that PureVPN automatically reduces ping. A VPN route can improve or worsen latency depending on network conditions.

What about device support?

PureVPN supports major consumer platforms, including:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Linux
  • Android
  • iOS
  • Android TV
  • Apple TV
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Edge
  • Routers

That should cover a typical household using phones, laptops, tablets, and TVs.

PureVPN pricing in 2026

PureVPN currently sells Standard, Plus, and Max plans.

Here is a simplified look at the pricing checked in October 2026.

Plan1-Month Cost2-Year Average Monthly Cost
Standard$12.95 / mo$2.15 / mo
Plus$17.95 / mo$2.73 / mo
Max$19.95 / mo$3.55 / mo

Important note:

PureVPN currently provides a 31-day money-back guarantee on qualifying purchases. Only applies to first-time or initial purchases. PureVPN does not offer refunds for renewals, trial-based renewals, gift cards, or app store purchases (Apple/Google Play).

Does PureVPN have a free trial?

In a sense, no. The current PureVPN free trial search intent actually leads to a paid trial. After seven days, the selected subscription starts automatically unless canceled before the trial ends. PureVPN says it sends a reminder on day six. So it is better to call this a low-cost trial, not a free trial.

What about PureVPN for streaming?

PureVPN can stay active while users stream content within their normal service access. Any premium VPN works for streaming, so we don’t have anything to say. Speed depends on how people use the servers. More users mean slower speeds and heavier traffic unless you use dedicated servers.

What about P2P support?

PureVPN supports P2P traffic on selected servers. I repeat, selected servers. This can help with legitimate peer-to-peer file distribution, software sharing, or other lawful uses.

Important notes:

  • A VPN does not make copyright infringement legal.
  • Users still need to follow copyright law, local regulations, and the terms of the services they use.

Is PureVPN worth buying?

PureVPN offers a broad set of features for people who want a multi-device VPN with a large server network. The service now combines 6,000+ servers, 10 simultaneous connections, modern protocols, split tunneling, a kill switch, and independently assessed privacy practices.

Pricing can also be competitive if you are comfortable paying upfront for a longer subscription. Watch the total cost. Check the upfront payment, renewal rate, add-ons, and refund conditions before subscribing.

Final thoughts

PureVPN now offers a large network, broad device support, several modern VPN protocols, privacy tools, and multiple subscription tiers. It also has clearer audit information than the older review reflected. So we do not forbid anyone from buying their service.
